Dead 7 (Amazon Prime) Movie Review

Ever dream of the all 90’s boys bands being killed off by zombies ? If yes, then this is the movie for you!! What the actual fuck! How come no one told me there was a zombie movie featuring 90’s Boy Bands. And it came out in 2016 and I’m just finding out about it!! Dead 7 Staring: Boy Band members : Nick Carter from Backstreet Boys, Joey Fatone from NSYNC, AJ McLean from Backstreet boys, Howie Dorough from Backstreet Boys, Jeff Timmons from 98 Degrees, Chris Kirkpatrick from NSYNC, Erik-Micheal Estrada from O-Town, Trevor Penick from O-Town and a few others.

Nick Carter of course I recognized right away, but it literally took me 10 minutes to figure out what was going on and to realize this zombie movie was full Boy of Bands. I just keep thinking to myself that I’ve seen these people before. Joey Fatone-NSYNC  was the most unrecognizable. I literally had to confirm with a google search that that was in fact Joey Fatone playing Whiskey Joe. But other then the slap in the face with Nostalgia, this movie is about as good as you would expect, when you consider Nick Cater is one of the producers. Dead 7 is a Cheese, Korney,  B movie fit for a SyFY Channel zombie movie marathon.

Dead 7 is about a (western style) gang of assassins (Boy band dudes) who set out to destroy a terrorist group thats been going from town to town unleashing zombies on the defenseless in attempts to reck havoc and take control of the towns. The movie plot is all over the place with characters wearing clown makeup and pre 21st century western clothing that has nothing to do with the movie and doesn’t add depth or meaning to the characters. Side note:  The only character that can pull off clown makeup and it actually add depth to his character, is the Joker. This movie had more sub plots then Subway has sub sandwiches, and almost all of them lead no where. Another side note: Who thought it was a good idea for Debra Wilson, the comedian known from her comedy sketches on MADtv, to play the evil antagonist? Barney would have been a better antagonist. If you don’t believe me just look at what a giant easter bunny did for Danny Darko (2001).  Obviously  this movie was meant to be a joke and poke fun at cheese boy bands and cliché action movies and zombie movies.  but I can’t help but to think, what if this movie did for these washed up boy band guys, what Independence Day did for Will Smith.

Zombie food for thought.

The Mad (Amazon Prime) Movie review

The Mad (Amazon Prime) Movie Review

First of all let me start by saying ,yes, that is Billy Zane from the movie Titanic. Now that we got that out of the way; I liked this movie. It’s a movie about a father and teenage daughter who come to realize that what they have in life is better then being eaten alive.

When a dysfunctional  family goes on vacation the people around them start turning  into zombies after eating burgers made with meat from a local farm.  A Father and daughter team up and presumably save the world by investigating the source of the meat and putting an end to it. I give this movie a thumps up. Its far from original or rememberable but its a solid, light hearted, comical zombie movie about father and daughter bonding. If Hallmark ever decided to be a little edgey and make a zombie movie, this is what it would look like. Also it was good to see Billy Zane again, it’s been awhile.

Here Alone (It’s on Netflix) Movie Review

Here Alone is a Drama about a young family that flee to the woods during the beginning of a zombie virus outbreak. Of course everyone doesn’t make it. A women now all alone fending for herself  comes across a young girl and her guardian and life once again changes. It was a really good movie and i applauded them for successfully making a Zombie Drama. This is a great movie even if your not really into zombie movies.

The Girl with all the Gifts- Movie review

The Girl with all the Gifts is a solid  zombie movie. It could have been great but it fell short. It wasn’t bad acting per-say but it was like the actors didn’t know their characters and the emotional chemistry between the characters was off. With A list Actors like Glenn Close and Gemma Arterton I was expecting it to be great and it wasn’t. The plot was great, which was part of the problem, the plot and story line were greater then the movie itself. I think this would have been better as a mini series. It would have given the actors more time to develop their characters and it would have allowed for more details to pull the story together. Also I feel like it was poorly edited. But over all it was good. Im just overly critical of big budget Zombie Movies. Watch it and Judge for yourself.
